Question 1

What is MARASOON?

Accepted Answer

MARASOON is an online service for marathon runners to discover events, track race records, match with personal pacers, and join team challenges — helping runners progress through the goal-train-race cycle.

Question 2

What's the difference between Private Pacing and Team Challenge?

Accepted Answer

Private Pacing is a 1-on-1 pacing match for runners who need steady rhythm support. Team Challenge is a multi-person group targeting the same goal. You can participate in both at the same time.

Question 3

Which race distances are supported?

Accepted Answer

Currently supports full marathon and half marathon.

Question 4

Does the platform guarantee my race results?

Accepted Answer

No. We help you find better training partners and improve race execution, but results depend on your own preparation and performance. We do not promise any race outcomes.

Question 5

What is a private pacer (rabbit)?

Accepted Answer

A private pacer publishes pacing services for specific race events. Verified pacers set their event, distance, and target time range. Runners can filter and book a matching pacer.

Question 6

How do I find a pacer?

Accepted Answer

Go to the target race page, open "Private Pacing", filter by distance (full/half) and target time range, then book a suitable pacer. Book early — popular races fill up fast.

Question 7

Do the pacer and I need to be in the same race?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. We prioritize same-race matching, but also support cross-race pacing strategy and training coordination.

Question 8

How do I become a pacer?

Accepted Answer

Submit a pacer application (choose distance: full/half marathon), wait for admin review. Once approved, you can publish your pacing range for target events.

Question 9

How is pacer quality ensured?

Accepted Answer

Each pacer is verified (race records, pacing ability) and bookings require two-way confirmation. Match information is verified and authentic.

Question 10

Can I publish pacing for both full and half marathon in the same race?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can publish for different distances under the same event, but only one active listing per distance.

Question 11

Who is Team Challenge for?

Accepted Answer

Runners with a shared goal (e.g., sub-3, half marathon 1:30) who are willing to follow a unified pacing strategy. Joining requires agreeing to the team strategy.

Question 12

How do I create or join a team?

Accepted Answer

Create: Choose distance, set target range, write pacing/fueling strategy, then publish. Join: Filter matching teams on the race page, submit application with strategy agreement, wait for captain approval.

Question 13

Why was my team application rejected?

Accepted Answer

Common reasons: target time outside team range, team already full, strategy mismatch, or captain's overall assessment.

Question 14

Can I leave a team after joining?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Members can voluntarily leave, and the team count adjusts accordingly. Captains cannot leave directly but can close the team.

Question 15

How do I sign up and log in?

Accepted Answer

Register with your email, verify it, and you can start using all basic features immediately.

Question 16

Can one account be both a pacer and a team captain?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as you meet the requirements for each role.

Question 17

What data import methods are supported?

Accepted Answer

Manual upload of FIT, GPX, TCX, KML track files, plus data sync via Strava, Garmin Connect, and COROS accounts.

Question 18

How is the runner level determined?

Accepted Answer

The system automatically evaluates your level based on your marathon/half marathon PB, gender, and age group, referencing official athletic standards. Elite levels are age-independent; mass levels vary by age group. See the Usage Guide for details.

Question 19

What features are available for free?

Accepted Answer

The free plan includes browsing, basic matching, race record uploads, runner profiles, and other core features — enough for everyday use.

Question 20

What does the Lifetime Membership include?

Accepted Answer

Priority matching, finer filtering (distance, target range, style), pre-race strategy packs, post-race review templates, and accumulated reputation and race relationship history.

Accepted Answer

Stripe (credit/debit cards) and Alipay. All transactions are processed through encrypted channels.
